WASHINGTON, Aug. 17, 2026 – Indus Foods, LLC, doing business as Gangothri Foods, an Austin, Tex. firm, is recalling approximately 1,626 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) pickled goat and chicken products that were produced without the benefit of inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The RTE pickled goat and chicken products were produced between January 28, 2025, and May 6, 2026, and have a two-year shelf life. The following products are subject to recall [ view labels ]: 8-oz. glass jars containing “Gangothri Goat Pickle” 8-oz. glass jars containing “Gangothri Gongura Goat Pickle” 8-oz. glass jars containing “Gangothri Chicken Pickle” 8-oz. glass jars containing “Gangothri Gongura Chicken Pickle” The products subject to recall do not bear a USDA mark of inspection. The affected products were sold to restaurants, retail locations, and distributors nationwide and direct to consumers online.
