Provisional: Google News (5 term variants for AP, Reuters and The Washington Post; 3 for the others) and Bing News (5 variants, outlet domain only) were both used. AP, Reuters and CBS News block direct site search, and the other 10 outlets’ site search only loads in a live browser. A single search engine can miss articles, so this score may go down on recheck. Some matches were confirmed from headline, date and URL because the outlet blocked us from opening them.

L1What happened
The two youths went missing from Taphou Kuki village. Sources differ on the details. NDTV names them as Paoginlal Hangsing, 20, and Tinginlun Chongloi, 20, missing since Oct. 28, and Scroll also says they went missing on Wednesday (Oct. 28). The Hindu, citing officials, gives T. Chongloi as 21 and Paoginlal Hangsing as 20, missing since Oct. 29. The Hindu says their mutilated bodies were found on Sunday morning, Nov. 1, "stuffed in gunny bags in a banana farm" in a hilly stretch of Senapati district, during a search by police, CRPF and Assam Rifles teams.
L2Who’s affected
In Kangpokpi, protesters burned tyres and blocked roads with logs and boulders. Police fired tear gas and baton-charged them, and one protester was hurt on the head, allegedly by a tear gas shell (The Hindu). Businesses shut under a total shutdown called by the Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU). CoTU said it would not claim the bodies until its demands are met, including the removal of Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho (NDTV). The Hindu reports it demanded his resignation.

L4Deeper impact
The Noney victims were Thanglensang Singson, Thangkhosei Haokip and Lamminsang Kipgen, all from Churachandpur district (Scroll, citing police via the Hindustan Times). Kuki Inpi Manipur called them village volunteers and blamed NSCN-IM and ZUF(K) cadres. NDTV notes the allegation has not been independently verified and police have not identified those responsible. Deputy Chief Ministers Nemcha Kipgen, who is Kuki, and Losii Dikho, who is Naga, condemned the killings. The Naga Peoples' Organisation called for an independent investigation and condemned "any manipulation of evidence" (The Hindu).
L5Full context
Meitei groups rallied in Imphal demanding an end to the 2008 Suspension of Operations agreement with Kuki-Zo armed groups, and Naga groups held supporting rallies (Scroll). At least 306 people have been killed and 49 are missing since ethnic violence began in May 2023. About 60,000 were displaced and 24,000 remain in relief camps (Scroll, citing the state Assembly in September).
