Provisional: This score counts coverage of the confirmed flip: AP reported Friday, Nov. 6, that it had called enough races to confirm Democrats won both legislative chambers. AP is counted — its own article was located but blocked (403); the same AP text was opened on WTOP and the Las Vegas Sun, both dated Nov. 6. Earlier speculative coverage by The New York Times and NBC News, published before the flip was confirmed, is not counted. Reuters’ article body does not mention Arizona; NPR made only a passing mention. The Washington Post’s Nov. 5 roundup could not be opened, so the score is provisional. Other outlets were checked by Google News and Bing News headline search; ABC News returned no results.

Arizona Democrats won control of both chambers of the state Legislature and kept the governor’s office, giving the party its first trifecta in the state since 1966, the Associated Press reported Friday, Nov. 6, in copy carried by WTOP and the Las Vegas Sun. A shorter AP item on the Sun’s site describes it as the first time in 60 years.

AP said it called enough legislative races on Friday to confirm that both chambers flipped. Republicans had held the Arizona House for 60 years and the Senate since the early 1990s, according to AP.

In her first term, Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs vetoed more than 540 measures passed by the Republican-led Legislature, on policies including taxes, immigration and voting laws, AP reported.

These reports carry the same Associated Press reporting and are treated as one origin; Overlooked could not open AP’s own article page this run. Results are unofficial.
