Provisional: Every outlet was checked through Google News only, not each outlet's own site search. AP's Election Day roundup could not be opened (apnews.com blocks our fetch), so we could not confirm whether it mentions this precinct. A single search engine can miss articles, so this score may go down on recheck.
Washington County officials said "a precinct in Chartiers Township will remain open for voting until 10 p.m. Tuesday", 90.5 WESA reports. "Washington County Common Pleas Judge Traci L. McDonald issued a court order to hold the precinct open for two extra hours to enable those voters to return and cast provisional ballots" (WESA).
Sources describe the cause differently. WESA reports: "County spokeswoman Nicole Ford said 23 people who voted between 7 and 11 a.m. Tuesday failed to sign the poll book at Chartiers Township precinct 3."
The Observer-Reporter reports the votes "may not be counted after the judge of elections there failed to sign in the voters when the electronic poll book failed." Whether any of the votes count has not been decided: "Another hearing will be held before McDonald on Wednesday to determine whether people who were unable to return to the precinct should still have their vote counted" (Observer-Reporter).
